It was a typical day in paradise – sunny, low 80’s, cool Spring April breeze coming off the Atlantic Ocean, birds singing, sea gulls abundant and in the distance, as my beautiful wife & life partner Jamie drives us up the Marathon Country Club driveway mmmmmm we could hear the crew setting up the stage and sound system – I’m not going to lie – at that point I felt that little butterfly in my tummy – the good one not the other bad one lol – and I took it as a sign of anxious strength (like waiting at the staring line for the staring gun to go off) – and I knew it was going to be an excellent day.

The day was April 11, 2021. It was the filming date of the performances being used in the movie, “The Making of a Tribute Band in the Florida Keys” starring Michael Allman, Greg Allman‘s son of the Allman Brothers band, costarring yours truly Wayne Sorbelli of Island Guitar AKA Bone Island Music in Key West and a host of other great Florida keys musicians like Ray West (who was charged with finding the “right” local musicians with adequate skill levels for the highly demanding musical & technical tasks on hand, & with the willingness & time to do it) and he did a fantastic job!!! Thanks bother Ray!!!

Ray West was also the one of the dual duty guitarists playing lead and rythym as well as vocal harmonies with the “Florida Keys Allman Brothers Tribute Band”

My Led Zep act has “grownup” & is a teenager now. It’s grown into the Florida Keys Led Zeppelin Tribute Band (thanks to Cliff Rydell for imagining, executing & producing this movie about the Making of a real tribute band in the keys This helped with my band’s transition into adolescence. I can’t wait to meet you all again when it’s all grown up playing somewhere like Key West Arena shows in the near & continuing future.

What have I been doing for fun during the Covid-19 pandemic? I’ve been polishing up my USA Gibson, Dean, Fender, & Martin guitars, Dunlop Johnny Winter pinky slide, cry baby & delay effect pedals, violin bow & bow rosin – & some of Led Zeppelin’s greatest hits & most requested songs – all in preparation for starring as the guitarist of a Led Zeppelin tribute band born in Key West & the Florida Keys in a movie about “The Making of a Tribute Band in the Florida Keys.”

Hi it’s Wayne Sorbelli here from Island Guitar music store down here in Key West Florida. So far so good in the keys. No corona virus cases yet as of the time I post this that we know about. We are closed to any walk-in business. We are taking phone orders in which you can pay over the phone then i can walk the musical gear and supplies out the front door to your car or bike. This system had served us very well the last few days as we’ve been able to place instruments in the hands of many smart people and their children.

In the months coming we will all be stuck inside. It’ll be a better sentencing if we have an instrument in our hands and at our disposal and are signed up for some 1-one-1 FaceTime, Skype or Zoom lessons with me, or one of our teachers.

Call 305-414-8056 pls leave a voice message if we can’t answer it means we are probably giving a lesson and will return call to you ASAP as we may be teaching.
