Island Guitar Key West (Home of the BONE ISLAND MUSIC CREW) 1109 Key Plaza Key West, Fl 33040 Phone: 305-414-8056
After picking up one of our rental guitars from one of the most popular Key West resorts on my way home from our family music store, Island Guitar (home of the Bone Island Music Crew) I decided to give this baby a little attention and some periodic love and affection.
So I headed to my work bench and took the old strings off. I cleaned then conditioned the fretboard before putting on the new strings. (It’s much easier and you’ll do a much better job while the strings are off!)
Then I gave the entire guitar a good cleaning and polish front and back.
Now it sounds so much better with the new strings it’s unbelievable. Dead strings can really kill a guitar’s tone, sustain, and intonation. Dead strings sound BAD. Not only playing hours count towards a string’s death – but also time alone makes them die. Strings have a shelf life once strung. Period.
Live Music Key West Feb 22 2019 As The Wavy and Wayne Show!, I’ll be playing some live rock-n-roll, country, southern rock, blues and a bunch of electric slide guitar for our beloved military men and women and their families this Friday 6-9pm at Navigator’s marina bar and restaurant. Located on Boca Chica Naval Air station, Military base access is required to get in.
Band and Duo Show partner Wavy (Dave Parkhurst) and I are always working on new material and adding new dynamics to our show.
Driven by the diversity of the fans typically found vacationing and partying in the Florida Keys and most notably Key West, our sets include all types of styles of music and jams including classic hit songs from favorites artists like Chuck Berry, LED Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, Bo Diddley, Kinks,
Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Charlie Daniels, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams,
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, The Band, Buffalo Springfield
and many many many more.
I met Wavy at my music store in Key West where he’d stop regularly for music gear and supplies and strings – and eventually we ended up working together. We grew up on mostly the same music and love many of the same bands and artists so we share deep roots through the music.
Ukulele Camp 2018 is at the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden located at 5210 College Rd, Key West, FL 33040 on Stock Island.
We are excited to be planning the best music summer camp experience ever for 2018!
By popular demand, everyone will focus on the ukulele as the main camp instrument but we will explore electric and acoustic guitar, bass, keyboards, drums and steel pans. We encourage every child to try several different instruments before spending all of their time with one.
Our goal is to provide a professional musical learning environment through special tools, equipment, experience, knowledge, live examples, performances and guest speakers. These guided hands-on experiences help campers discover new likes and hidden talents while building the best summer camp experience ever.
