“Bone Island” Music – “Bone Island” or the original Spanish name “Cayo Hueso” (Bone Island) was the original name of Key West BEFORE English speaking settlers came into the picture when the name then began to change from being pronounced “Cayo Hueso”, to eventually being pronounced “Key West” – So Bone Island Music – Cayo Hueso Musica – or Key West Music – you get it right? So we like to call all of our friends, musicians, clubs, conch rockers and music loving fans the “Bone Island Music Crew”

Greetings family, friends, peers, brethren, brothers, sisters, students, & anyone who loves to ROCK OUT for a good cause— or anyone who hates cancer as much as I do!!!!! !!!

My Led Zeppelin Tribute band is opening a show at the Key West theater on July 31st, 2021 called (Bustin’ out of Quarantine) & the band we are opening for is called the (Parrothead Massacre) & they do some heavier music mixed with some comedy & tongue-in-cheek stuff with their professional quality covers of everything from MotorHead to Metallica all mixed with a spectacular sense of humor.

I’ll be using different musician friends to play different songs of my set. So far I’ve got Mark UVA Gambuzza of Parrot Head Massacre singing one, Rebecca Morse Whitten, Johnny Van Plant & David Bryce Warren singing a couple songs each, David Bryce Warren & Jannik Khaer doing some drums & percussion, Francois Gehin & Carter Moore playing some bass guitar, Island Guitar’s piano teacher James KingIII on keys, Key West artist/musician Zach Jones on harmonica – and more songs and artists are coming together everyday.

The show is a benefit for my Wife Jamie & I’s non-profit 501c in memory of our son NICKY Wayne Sorbelli, who lost his battle with blood cancer at age 10 after a hard & very long year’s battle.

My family now is forever part of the war on cancer, it’s cure, its prevention & working towards early detection abilities (which would increase treatment success rate exponentially)

— but most importantly we help those families still fighting the battle right here, right now!

We are warriors now. We never had the chance to say “no I’m not signing up for this”. Jamie & I didn’t get to choose any of this – but here we are in a battle of the flesh, mind, & soul!!!! Helping families & their children with their battle.

I promise to forever fight this disgusting evil cancer until death!! Please Help Us?

Greetings my Led Zep loving friends!!! Here is a video one version of my Key West Led Zeppelin Tribute Band consisting of me, Wayne Sorbelli on guitars & effects, David Bryce Warren smashing the drum kit & sharing lead vocals with Karri Daley. Francois Gehin of MadDog Productions is covering our bass guitar duties as well as using his 9 string bass to add keyboards, flute, and other textures to our show.

Hers a little “ Whole Lotta Love”. I hope you enjoy the middle improve section (I don’t own a theremin but think using three delay peddles, violin bow, wah, pick and finger nail scrapes was a fair substitution). Pleas let me know what you think in the comments below pls. Suggestions or constructive criticism are as welcome as any positive feedback. I am always trying to grow better. Thank you.

It was a typical day in paradise – sunny, low 80’s, cool Spring April breeze coming off the Atlantic Ocean, birds singing, sea gulls abundant and in the distance, as my beautiful wife & life partner Jamie drives us up the Marathon Country Club driveway mmmmmm we could hear the crew setting up the stage and sound system – I’m not going to lie – at that point I felt that little butterfly in my tummy – the good one not the other bad one lol – and I took it as a sign of anxious strength (like waiting at the staring line for the staring gun to go off) – and I knew it was going to be an excellent day.

The day was April 11, 2021. It was the filming date of the performances being used in the movie, “The Making of a Tribute Band in the Florida Keys” starring Michael Allman, Greg Allman‘s son of the Allman Brothers band, costarring yours truly Wayne Sorbelli of Island Guitar AKA Bone Island Music in Key West and a host of other great Florida keys musicians like Ray West (who was charged with finding the “right” local musicians with adequate skill levels for the highly demanding musical & technical tasks on hand, & with the willingness & time to do it) and he did a fantastic job!!! Thanks bother Ray!!!

My Led Zep act has “grownup” & is a teenager now. It’s grown into the Florida Keys Led Zeppelin Tribute Band (thanks to Cliff Rydell for imagining, executing & producing this movie about the Making of a real tribute band in the keys This helped with my band’s transition into adolescence. I can’t wait to meet you all again when it’s all grown up playing somewhere like Key West Arena shows in the near & continuing future.

What have I been doing for fun during the Covid-19 pandemic? I’ve been polishing up my USA Gibson, Dean, Fender, & Martin guitars, Dunlop Johnny Winter pinky slide, cry baby & delay effect pedals, violin bow & bow rosin – & some of Led Zeppelin’s greatest hits & most requested songs – all in preparation for starring as the guitarist of a Led Zeppelin tribute band born in Key West & the Florida Keys in a movie about “The Making of a Tribute Band in the Florida Keys.”
