“Key West Strut, Slippin’ Slidin’ Funking Blues” is an instrumental blues/funk guitar peice that i’ve been writing for the last few years since i’ve been living in Key West. It is heavily influenced by my blues roots as well as the incredible vibe radiating from the energetic eclectically vibrating local music scene and it’s many local “Conch Rockers” and their addictive form of Trop Rock unique to the Florida Keys mixing American blues and country roots with Caribbean Cuban and Island Vibe sounds!
This is the soundtrack that was playing in my head the first time I cruised down Flagler Ave heading toward the nightly sunset celebration at Mallory Square, then onto one of the most fun music filled nights ever on world famous Duval Street!! While you listen to my guitar during this song, I hope some of the energy, excitement, and anxiousness that accompanies a great adventure spark your imagination and curiosity!!
This take of the song is an early one-take live demo and it is something that will have updates from time to time as I build my ideas.
